Apaan itu JBR ???????
Pertanyaan itu spontan terlontar ketika seorang teman mengajakku momotoh di JBR, malioboro. Ternyata JBR adalah Jogja Bike Rendevouz, festival motor-motor besar yang diadakan tiap tahun. Tahun ini jogja kebagian jadi tuan rumah. Wajarlah ga ngerti, orang bukan pecinta motor besar ko. Akhirnya berangkat kesana berbekal kemera dengan motor kecil ‘supra fit’ dan seorang teman.
Keramaian sudah terasa saat berenti di perlimaan gardu listrik. Terus jalan merambat bersama dengan motor-motor kecil dan beberapa motor besar juga mobil dan bis-bis pariwisata, akhirnya masuk ke jalan malioboro. Biasalah akhir minggu, jogja selalu ramai dengan turis. Langsung parkir didepan Hotel Inna Garuda supaya bisa liat-liat lebih banyak. Ternyata acara sudah mulai dari pagi, diawali dengan konvoi motor besar trus parkir di malioboro.
 
Sepanjang trotoar barat jalan dipenuhi tenda-tenda jajanan “harley stuff“. Para pemilik kendaraan besar peserta acara ini sengaja parkir motor besarnya pinggir jalan untuk diliat-liat, dipoto, dan dipegang-pegang. Dagangan yang dijual (ya iyalah masa gratis) mulai dari kaos rang dewasa, anak kecil, jaket, sepatu-sepatu tinggi ‘khas’ biker, onderdil motor, pernak-pernik seperti dompet, gantungan kunci, stiker., acesoris motor dan banyak lagi.
Terus jalan kearah selatan yang dagang dan pertunjukan jalannya semakin bervariasi. Yang saya ga ngerti tu tiba-tiba ada “srimulat-srimulat-an” salah satu sudut jalan. Juga karena ga gitu paham bahasa jawa jadi cuma bengong doang nontonnya (sama beberapa kali ngambil gambar). Baru mulai mingkem setelah mereka mempertunjukkan tarian (gatau namanya apa). Ada pemain (merangkap juga sebagai penari) dengan kuda lumping diselangkangannya joged-joged. Bukan kesan indah yang aku dapatkan tapi malah “maksudnya apa sih ni orang” rada ga jelas. Trus langsung kutinggal.
Didepan Mal Maliboro sudah siap panggung (mungkin buat pertunjukan dimalam harinya) dijaga motor-motor besar milik pak polisi. Aku malah tertarik dengan motor polisinya. Ternyata harley juga. Pantesan kalo ngejar orang dijalan dapet terus! Lha penjahatnya pake bebek polisinya pake harley.. ga imbang. Jeglek. 
 
Peserta di acara ini ga cuma tampil pamer motor mereka, tapi juga motornya diikutkan kontes “kecantikan” motor. Pemenangnya sudah terpilih.
Disingasana udah ada 2 buahmotor besar berwarna merah. Cantik, Bak puteri raja, bermandikan cahaya (lampu sorot kuning) jadi terkesan mewah dan “tak tersentuh”. Mengalahkan kontestan lain yang juga cantik. Piala disamping motor seakan-akan berbicara “akulah yang tercantik!”. Aku kurang paham apa saja yang dinilai dalam kontes ini, tapi kl dari tampilan motor yang menang sih gak cuma fisik nya yang dinilai tapi inner nya juga, hehe… ah gatau lah.

Pendek kata pendidikan dapat diharapkan untuk mengembangkan wawasan anak terhadap ideologi, politik, ekonomi, sosial, budaya dan pertahanan keamanan secara tepat dan benar, sehingga membawa kemajuan pada individu masyarakat dan negara untuk mencapai tujuan pembangunan nasional.Sebagian besar masyarakat modern memandang lembaga-lembaga pendidikan sebagai peranan kunci dalam mencapai tujuan sosial Pemerintah bersama orang tua telah menyediakan anggaran pendidikan yang diperlukan sceara besar-besaran untuk kemajuan sosial dan pembangunan bangsa, untuk mempertahankan nilai-nilai tradisional yang berupa nilai-nilai luhur yang harus dilestarikan seperti rasa hormat kepada orang tua, kepada pemimpin kewajiban untuk mematuhi hukum-hukum dan norma-norma yang berlaku, jiwa patriotisme dan sebagainya. Pendidikan juga diharapkan untuk memupuk rasa takwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, meningkatkan kemajuan-kemajuan dan pembangunan politik, ekonomi, sosial dan pertahanan keamanan. Pendek kata pendidikan dapat diharapkan untuk mengembangkan wawasan anak terhadap ideologi, politik, ekonomi, sosial, budaya dan pertahanan keamanan secara tepat dan benar, sehingga membawa kemajuan pada individu masyarakat dan negara untuk mencapai tujuan pembangunan nasional.


1) Fungsi Sosialisasi


Di dalam masyarakat pra industri, generasi baru belajar mengikuti pola perilaku generasi sebelumnya tidak melalui lembaga-lembaga sekolah seperti sekarang ini. Pada masyarakat pra industri tersebut anak belajar dengan jalan mengikuti atau melibatkan diri dalam aktivitas orang-orang yang telah lebih dewasa. Anak-anak mengamati apa yang mereka lakukan, kemudian menirunya dan anak-anak belajar dengan berbuat atau melakukan sesuatu sebagaimana dilakukan oleh orang-orang yang telah dewasa. Untuk keperluan tersebut anak-anak belajar bahasa atau simbol-simbol yang berlaku pada generasi tua, menyesuai kan diri dengan nilai-nilai yang berlaku, mengikuti pandangannya dan memperoleh keterampilan-keterampilan tertentu yang semuanya diperoleh lewat budaya masyarakatnya. Di dalam situasi seperti itu semua orang dewasa adalah guru, tempat di mana anak-anak meniru, mengikuti dan berbuat seperti apa yang dilakukan oleh orang-orang yang lebih dewasa. Mulai dari permulaan, anak-anak telah dibiasakan berbuat sebagaimana dilakukan oleh generasi yang lebih tua. Hal itu merupakan bagian dari perjuangan hidupnya. Segala sesuatu yang dipelajari adalah berguna dan berefek langsung bagi kehidupannya sehari-hari.


2) Fungsi kontrol sosial


Sekolah dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai dan loyalitas terhadap tatanan tradisional masyarakat harus juga berfungsi sebagai lembaga pelayanan sekolah untuk melakukan mekanisme kontrol sosial. Durheim menjelaskan bahwa petididikan moral dapat dipergunakan untuk menahan atau mengurangi sifat-sifat egoisme pada anak-anak menjadi pribadi yang merupakan bagian masyarakat yang integral di mana anak harus memiliki kesadaran dan tanggung jawab sosial. (Jeane H. Bellatine, 1983, p.8). Melalui pendidikan semacam ini individu mengadopsi nilai-nilai sosial dan melakukan interaksi nilai-niiai tersebut dalam kehidupannya sehari-hari Selanjutnya sebagai individu sebagai anggota masyarakat ia juga dituntut untuk memberi dukungan dan berusaha untuk mempertahankan tatanan sosial yang berlaku.

3) Fungsi pelestarian budaya masyarakat


Sekolah di samping mempunyai tugas untuk mempersatu budaya-budaya etnik yang beraneka ragam juga harus melestanikan nilai-nilai budaya daerah yang masih layak dipertahankan seperti bahasa daerah, kesenian daerah, budi pekerti dan suatu upaya mendayagunakan sumber daya lokal bagi kepentingan sekolah dan sebagainya. Fungsi sekolah berkaitan dengan konservasi nilai-nilai budaya daerah ini ada dua fungsi sekolah yaitu pertama sekolah digunakan sebagai salah satu lembaga masyarakat untuk mempertahankan nilai-nilai tradisional masyarakat dari suatu masyarakat pada suatu daerah tertentu.



4) Fungsi seleksi, latihan dan pengembangan tenaga kerja


Jika kita amati apa yang terjadi dalam masyarakat dalam rangka menyiapkan tenaga kerja untuk suatu jabatan tertentu, maka di sana akan terjadi tiga kegiatan yaitu kegiatan, latihan untuk suatu jabatan dan pengembangan tenaga kerja tertentu.

Proses seleksi ini terjadi di segala bidang baik mau masuk sekolah maupun mau masuk pada jabatan tertentu. Untuk masuk sekolah tertentu harus mengikuti ujian tertentu, untuk masuk suatu jabatan tertentu harus mengikuti testing kecakapan tertentu. Sebagai contoh untuk dapat masuk pada suatu sekolah menengah tertentu harus menyerahkan nllai EBTA Murni (NEM). Dan nilai NEM yang masuk dipilih nilai NEM yang tinggi dari nilai tertentu sampai nilai yang terendah.



5) Fungsi pendidikan dan perubahan sosial


Pendidikan mempunyai fungsi untuk mengadakan perubahan sosial mempunyai fungsi :
  1. melakukan reproduksi budaya,
  2. difusi budaya,
  3. mengembangkan analisis kultural terhadap kelembagaan-kelembagaan tradisional,
  4. melakukan perubahan-perubahan atau modifikasi tingkat ekonomi sosial tradisional, dan
  5. melakukan perubahan-perubahan yang lebih mendasar terhadap institusi-institusi tradisional yang telah ketinggalan.
Sekolah berfungsi sebagai reproduksi budaya menempatkan sekolah sebagai pusat penelitian dan pengembangan. Fungsi semacam ini merupakan fungsi pada perguruan tinggi. Pada sekolah-sekolah yang lebih rendah, fungsi ini tidak setinggi pada tingkat pendidikan tinggi.

6) Fungsi Sekolah dalam Masyarakat


DI muka telah dibicarakan tentang adanya tiga bentuk pendidikan yaitu pendidikan formal, pendidikan informal dan pendidikan nonformal. Pendidikan formal disebut juga sekolah. Oleh karena itu sekolah bukan satu-satunya lembaga yang menyelenggarakan pendidikan tetapi masih ada lembaga-lembaga lain yang juga menyelenggarakan pendidikan. Sekolah sebagai penyelenggara pendidikan mempunyai dua fungsi yaitu (1) sebagai partner masyarakat dan (2) sebagai penghasil tenaga kerja. Sekolah sebagai partner masyarakat akan dipengaruhi oleh corak pengalaman seseorang di dalam lingkungan masyarakat. Pengalarnan pada berbagai kelompok masyarakat, jenis bacaan, tontonan serta aktivitas-aktivitas lainnya dalam masyarakat dapat mempengaruhi fungsi pendidikan yang dimainkan oleh sekolah. Sekolah juga berkepentingan terhadap perubahan lingkungan seseorang di dalam masyarakat. Perubahan lingkungan itu antara lain dapat dilakukan melalui fungsi layanan bimbingan, penyediaan forum komunikasi antara sekolah dengan lembaga sosial lain dalam masyarakat. Sebaliknya partisipasi sadar seseorang untuk selalu belajar dari lingkungan masyarakat, sedikit banyak juga dipengaruhi oleh tugas-tugas belajar serta pengarahan belajar yang dilaksanakan di sekolah.

Fungsi sekolah sebagai partner masyarakat akan dipengaruhi pula oleh sedikit banyaknya serta fungsional tidaknya pendayagunaan sumber-sumber belajar di masyarakat. Kekayaan sumber belajar dalam masyarakat seperti adanya orang-orang sumber, perpustakaan, museum, surat kabar, majalah dan sebagainya dapat digunakan oleh sekolah dalam menunaikan fungsi pendidikan.

Sebagai produser kebutuhan pendidikan masyarakat sekolah dan masyarakat memiliki ikatan hubungan rasional di antara keduanya. Pertama, adanya kesesuaian antara fungsi pendidikan yang dimainkan oleh sekolah dengan apa yang dibutuhkan masyarakat. Kedua, ketepatan sasaran atau target pendidikan yang ditangani oleh lembaga persekolahan akan ditentukan pula o!eh kejelasan perumusan kontrak antara sekolah selaku pelayan dengan masyarakat selaku pemesan. Ketiga, keberhasilan penunaian fungsi sekolah sebagai layanan pesanan masyarakat sebagian akan dipengaruhi oleh ikatan objektif di antara keduanya.

Ikatan objektif ini dapat berupa perhatian, penghargaan dan tunjangan tertentu seperti dana, fasilitas dan jaminan objektif lainnya yang memberikan makna penting eksistensi dan produk sekolahan.

Kini setelah membaca fakta diatas, apa yang ada dipikran anda? Cobalah melihat lebih ke atas sedikit, lebih tepatnya judul artikel ini. Yah, itu adalah usulan saya untuk beberapa kasus yang membuat hati di dada kita “terhentak” membaca kelakuan para pejabat Negara.
Pendidikan karakter, sekarang ini mutlak diperlukan bukan hanya di sekolah saja, tapi dirumah dan di lingkungan sosial. Bahkan sekarang ini peserta pendidikan karakter bukan lagi anak usia dini hingga remaja, tetapi juga usia dewasa. Mutlak perlu untuk kelangsungan hidup Bangsa ini.
Bayangkan apa persaingan yang muncul ditahun 2021? Yang jelas itu akan menjadi beban kita dan orangtua masa kini. Saat itu, anak-anak masa kini akan menghadapi persaingan dengan rekan-rekannya dari berbagai belahan Negara di Dunia. Bahkan kita yang masih akan berkarya ditahun tersebut akan merasakan perasaan yang sama. Tuntutan kualitas sumber daya manusia pada tahun 2021 tentunya membutuhkan good character.
Bagaimanapun juga, karakter adalah kunci keberhasilan individu. Dari sebuah penelitian di Amerika, 90 persen kasus pemecatan disebabkan oleh perilaku buruk seperti tidak bertanggung jawab, tidak jujur, dan hubungan interpersonal yang buruk. Selain itu, terdapat penelitian lain yang mengindikasikan bahwa 80 persen keberhasilan seseorang di masyarakat ditentukan oleh emotional quotient.
Bagaimana dengan bangsa kita? Bagaimana dengan penerus orang-orang yang sekarang sedang duduk dikursi penting pemerintahan negara ini dan yang duduk di kursi penting yang mengelola roda perekonomian negara ini? Apakah mereka sudah menunjukan kualitas karakter yang baik dan melegakan hati kita? Bisakah kita percaya, kelak tongkat estafet kita serahkan pada mereka, maka mereka mampu menjalankan dengan baik atau justru sebaliknya?
Dari sudut pandang psikologis, saya melihat terjadi penurunan kulaitas “usia psikologis” pada anak yang berusia 21 tahun pada tahun 20011, dengan anak yang berumur 21 pada tahun 2001. Maksud usia psikologis adalah usia kedewasaan, usia kelayakan dan kepantasan yang berbanding lurus dengan usia biologis. Jika anak sekarang usia 21 tahun seakan mereka seperti berumur 12 atau 11 tahun. Maaf jika ini mengejutkan dan menyakitkan.
Walau tidak semua, tetapi kebanyakan saya temui memiliki kecenderungan seperti itu. Saya berulangkali bekerjasama dengan anak usia tersebut dan hasilnya kurang maksimal. Saya tidak “kapok” ber ulang-ulang bekerja sama dengan mereka. Dan secara tidak sengaja saya menemukan pola ini cenderung berulang, saya amati dan evaluasi perilaku dan karakter mereka. Kembali lagi ingat, disekolah pada umumnya tidak diberikan pendidikan untuk mengatasi persaingan pada dunia kerja. Sehingga ada survey yang mengatakan rata-rata setelah sekolah seorang anak perlu 5-7 tahun beradaptasi dengan dunia kerja dan rata-rata dalam 5-7 tahun tersebut pindah kerja sampai 3-5 kali. Hmm.. dan proses seperti ini sering disebut dengan proses mencari jati diri. Pertanyaan saya mencari “diri” itu didalam diri atau diluar diri? “saya cocoknya kerja apa ya? Coba kerjain ini lah” lalu kalau tidak cocok pindah ke lainnya. Kenapa tidak diajarkan disekolah, agar proses anak menjalani kehidupan  di dunia yang sesungguhnya tidak mengalami hambatan bahkan tidak jarang yang putus asa karena tumbuh perasaan tidak mampu didalam dirinya dan seumur hidup  terpenjara oleh keyakinannya yang salah.
Baiklah kembali lagi ke topik, Karakter merupakan nilai-nilai perilaku manusia yang berhubungan dengan Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, diri sendiri, sesama manusia, lingkungan dan kebangsaan yang terwujud dalam pikiran, sikap, perasaan, perkataan, dan perbuatan berdasarkan norma-norma agama, hukum, tata krama, budaya dan adat istiadat.
Bagi Indonesia sekarang ini, pendidikan karakter juga berarti melakukan usaha sungguh-sungguh, sitematik dan berkelanjutan untuk membangkitkan dan menguatkan kesadaran serta keyakinan semua orang Indonesia bahwa tidak akan ada masa depan yang lebih baik tanpa membangun dan menguatkan karakter rakyat Indonesia. Dengan kata lain, tidak ada masa depan yang lebih baik yang bisa diwujudkan tanpa kejujuran, tanpa meningkatkan disiplin diri, tanpa kegigihan, tanpa semangat belajar yang tinggi, tanpa mengembangkan rasa tanggung jawab, tanpa memupuk persatuan di tengah-tengah kebinekaan, tanpa semangat berkontribusi bagi kemajuan bersama, serta tanpa rasa percaya diri dan optimisme. Inilah tantangan kita bangsa Indonesia, sanggup?
